What the slider does
The interactive slider on the AgentsPop dashboard lets you project three AI growth scenarios and see projected crossover dates for three milestones simultaneously:
- Population crossover — when AI agent count exceeds world population (8.2B)
- Labor crossover — when AI labor hours exceed total human labor hours
- Code majority — when AI generates >50% of all new code written globally
Moving the slider left (conservative) or right (aggressive) updates all three projected years simultaneously, showing how different assumptions cascade across all milestones.
The three scenarios
How to use the projections
Don't treat any projection as a prediction. Use them to stress-test: are your business, career, or policy decisions robust to the conservative scenario? Would you be blindsided by the aggressive scenario? If the answers are "no" and "yes," you need a plan B.
The slider is most useful for team discussions about planning horizons. Setting it to "baseline" and reading off the crossover years gives a shared reference point for strategy.
